Last Monday we rubbed on our suncream (in Scotland… i know!) picked up our M&S picnic and zoooooooomed to the Zoo!
If you’re planning a trip to the zoo i’d recommend booking it online first as it is a little cheaper, you get to skip the really long queue for tickets and most importantly it’s the best chance to book a good time to see the pandas. I’d also suggest you bring a picnic and plenty of juice as the prices for food/drink are extortionate when you get inside… save your pennies for an overpriced cuddly toy at the end! Also get there early (for opening time if you can) as the queue for the tour bus will be shorter and if you ride it to the top and work your way down you’re likely to avoid overcrowding at the enclosures (also if you’ve got small kids or find it difficult to walk, working your way downhill is easier than going up!). And if you’ve booked to see the pandas make sure you get there 10/20mins before your slot as they do not wait and often you go in early, so be sure not to miss out……….. i think that’s all my tips! Now here are some photos:
Jamie having fun already!
Really amazing sand sculpture.
Orangutans and a stupid monkey.
Little type of deer i forget the name of…
Beautiful views out over Edinburgh.
Look at his ickle toes!
Venu (i think!).
I can’t remember what this guy is but his name was Kato!
A smelly ape!
Can’t remember what this one is but his feathers are incredibly beautiful.
And to round things off a visit to the wonderful giant pandas.
A happy sunny day :)
