Tim Knowles’ Tree Drawings

“A series of drawings produced using drawing implements attached to the tips of tree branches, the wind’s effects on the tree, recorded on paper. Like signatures each drawing reveals the different qualities and characteristics of each tree.”

I like this idea. It hints at the hidden lives of trees that we, as humanity, do not have access to and personifies them in a subtle way, to enforce that idea. And luckily for Knowles, the drawings produced not only have this beautiful idea behind them but are in themselves true works or art and really beautiful drawings.

Tim Knowles’ website is full of other wonderful art creation performances, you should browse through his gallery and check some of them out… The tree drawings are my favourite (obviously!) but the balloon drawings and postal works are also worth delving into… perhaps another post!

I’m really getting into this idea of performance creation. I like the notion of an ephemeral event creating something that is lasting… similar to the idea behind my Hidden Chamber Locket. I think i will pursue these ideas…..

Chloe out.
